Legislative Update

On Tuesday evening, the Transportation Conference Committee met and adopted its report on the transportation omnibus bill, HF861.

For Highway 14, the bill provides funding for Corridors of Commerce. It includes an ongoing $25 million/year in cash and $300 million in one-time trunk highway bonding. This is progress for completion of Highway 14, but not enough to finish the job.

On Wednesday, the House approved the bill on a party-line vote. Next it will go to the Senate. If both bodies pass the conference committee report, it will go to the Governor. who then has three days to sign or veto the bill.

We will keep you informed as action begins to heat up at the Capitol.
