Closer to Completion: Governor Dayton Celebrates Hwy 14 Expansion

Come join Governor Dayton and MnDOT Commissioner Charlie Zelle for an opening celebration for the expansion of Highway 14 east of Owatonna!

Friday, October 9 at 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

What: Celebration of the opening of the Highway 14 expansion (Corridors of Commerce) project east of Owatonna

Where:   Highway 14 east of Owatonna

Directions:  Traveling east, follow Hwy 14 east from I-35 to Steele County Road 43, turn right (south) onto CR43. Travel a half mile south and turn left, (east) onto SE 28 ST. Travel one mile on SE 28 ST, turn left (north) onto SE 54 AVE and travel a half mile. Site is at cul-de-sac adjacent to the completed Hwy 14 expansion. Park along side of road.

On maps, 54th Ave SE may appear to be accessible from Hwy 14, but it is NOT. Access was closed as part of the project.

Details:  Celebration planned to mark the opening of the recently completed Highway 14 expansion east of Owatonna. Corridors of Commerce provided construction money for the $12 million, 2.5-mile expansion, which started July 2014 and wrapped up recently.

Attendees will include Gov. Mark Dayton, MnDOT Commissioner Charlie Zelle, as well as elected local officials from the region.

Event will consist of speeches about the project and is expected to last approximately one hour.

Rain/weather backup site will be at MnDOT center in Owatonna, 1010 21st Ave. NW, Owatonna, MN 55060-1005
