Report shows economic impact of a $600M annual increase in state’s investment in highways and bridges

A new report by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association released today by Progress in Motion (PIM) found that a sustained $600 million annual increase in Minnesota’s highways and bridges would have a tremendous impact on the state’s economy.

As detailed in a PIM press release, the report found that a $600 million annual increase in highway and bridge construction work would boost Minnesota’s economic output by $1.45 billion, which would amount to a return of more than $2.40 on every $1 of spending. The report also found that the investment would create and sustain an additional 12,238 in Minnesota, with a total payroll of $455 million.
